Job Vacancy – Apprentice Planning Assistant

The Role

This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised individual who has an interest in planning. As an apprentice Planning Assistant / Town Planner, you will work closely with our planning consultancy team, supporting the preparation and management of planning applications and providing administrative and research support across a range of planning work.

Alongside your day-to-day duties at WBW, you will study towards a nationally recognised qualification with all tuition fees funded through the government apprenticeship scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation and management of planning applications and supporting documentation
  • Conducting research into local and national planning policies and relevant legislation
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, clients, and other stakeholders under supervision
  • Supporting the team with site visits and the preparation of planning applications
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, correspondence, and project files
  • Providing general support to the planning team as required
  • Attending client meetings and site inspections as appropriate

What We Are Looking For

We are opening the vacancy at two entry levels.

For a level 4 Apprenticeship Town Planning Assistant, candidates must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (including English & Maths). Geography or similar subjects are a bonus but not essential.

For a level 7 Apprenticeship in Town Planning, candidates must have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, 3 A levels or equivalent.

All candidates;

  • A keen interest in property and planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational ability with keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in ICT (including Microsoft Office applications)
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)

Job Vacancy – Apprentice Rural Surveyor

Our Skipton office serves clients throughout the Yorkshire Dales and the North of England. The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You will be based at our Skipton office, working alongside our experienced team of rural surveyors, planners and environmental consultants gaining hands on experience across a broad range of rural property and land matters, whilst simultaneously working towards your BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management in a RICS accredited degree with all tuition fees funded through the Government apprenticeship scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with valuations and sales of rural properties, farms and agricultural land
  • Supporting the team with landlord and tenancy matters, including rent reviews and tenancy agreements
  • Attending client meetings and property inspections
  • Assisting with rural planning matters and preparation of plans
  • Developing your understanding of the rural property market and land agency work.

What We Are Looking For

  • Has achieved or is predicted to achieve, a minimum of three A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Has a genuine interest in rural property, agriculture and the countryside
  • Is self-motivated, organised and able to manage the demands of working and studying simultaneously
  • Has strong communication skills, a professional manner and a true team player
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (or is working towards one)
